Noosa Biosphere Morning Sessions at the Beach Bar

Ease into your festival day with the Noosa Biosphere Morning Sessions, a relaxed and informative series hosted at the Noosa Beach Bar. These sessions offer engaging talks and workshops designed to inspire a deeper connection with Noosa’s Blue Biosphere.

Monday 16 March – Learn about surf cultures in biospheres and our ocean connection. Make your pledge to our blue biosphere on our art installation.

  • (8.30am) Why are biosphere reserves globally significant – Professor Ian Lowe AO
  • (9.00am) Surfboard shaper and Noosa Councillor, Tom Wegener – Surf Culture & Biosphere Reserves: a global view. 
  • (9.30am) Panel: Surfers in our blue biosphere – Javier Leon (UniSC), Noosa World Surfing Reserve, Surfrider Foundation, Sunshine Coast Surfrider Foundation.
  • (10.00am) Our human connection to the ocean – Songlines of the Sea: our human connection to the ocean. 
  • (10.30am) Walking Talking Country Tours, Beverly Hand – our Noosa Biosphere water-land.
