CoolCabanas Partnership Brings Shade, Style and Purpose to 35 Year milestone
The Noosa Festival of Surfing is proud to welcome CoolCabanas as an official partner for our 35th anniversary celebration. This partnership represents a shared commitment to community, lifestyle and raising awareness around sun safety and melanoma prevention.
We are thrilled to be working with the CoolCabanas team and their founder, Mark Fraser. Their brand is synonymous with Australian beach culture, and their presence at the Festival enhances the experience for competitors, families and spectators alike.
For Mark, this partnership carries personal meaning.
“Having experienced melanoma myself, I understand firsthand how important sun protection is,” says Fraser. “The beach is part of our identity as Australians, but we need to be smarter about how we enjoy it. Supporting the Noosa Festival of Surfing allows us to promote shade, protection and awareness in a setting where it truly matters.”
The message resonates deeply with Festival Event Director Josh Allen, whose own family has been impacted by melanoma in the past.
“My father has had multiple melanomas cut out over the years,” Allen shares. “It’s something that affects so many Australian families. Working with CoolCabanas allows us to not only improve the event experience, but also help spread an important message about protecting yourself in the sun.”
Throughout the Festival, CoolCabanas will play an integral role across key event spaces. From providing shaded areas for the Team Challenge and Family Challenge divisions, to supporting competitors within the Athlete Zone, their impact will be felt across the beach. Their iconic cabanas will also feature prominently in the Beach Bar precinct, elevating the look and comfort of the event site.
A highlight of the partnership is the introduction of premium CoolCabanas Private Lounges within the Beach Bar. These shaded, reserved spaces offer guests the ultimate way to enjoy the Festival. As we celebrate 35 years of surfing history on Noosa Main Beach, this partnership aims to give-back to the communities that have given us both so much whilst also embracing the opportunity to do something good. This is why we will be donating all CoolCabana sales from our merchandise stand to the QLD Cancer Council.
The 2026 Noosa Festival of Surfing takes place on Noosa Main Beach from Friday 13th March, bringing together surfers, families and fans from across Australia and around the world.
