Kennards Noosaville Team Challenge
The Kennards Noosaville Team Challenge is always a massive highlifght of the Festival.
With so many great surfers competing against each other throughout the 9 day event its only fitting they join forces and become friends instead of foes for a change.
Obviously this provides spectacular viewing for spectators with so many stacked teams.
For several years, the Team Challenge has been dominated by the crew from Thomas Surfboards who always have an incredibly strong team with several Festival titles between them, not to mention world titles.
However, in recent years many teams have given them a run for their money including Matt “the waxhead” Chojnacki bringing in his A team from Sydneys Northern Beaches. Our Festival crew are also a strong outfit with the likes of water patrol man Stuey Jeays, Commentator Ambrose McNeil, Womens Logger sweetheart Jade Gower and usually a misfit who cant find a team at the last minute.
At the end of the day it’s a lot of fun with each team hoping to lay their hands on the coveted perpetual trophy which weighs a tonne but is an absolutely spectacular trophy crafted by the man, Owen Cavanagh!
