Ease into your festival day with the Noosa Biosphere Morning Sessions, a relaxed and informative series hosted at the Noosa Beach Bar. These sessions offer engaging talks and workshops designed to inspire a deeper connection with Noosa’s Blue Biosphere.
Thursday 19 March – Learn about current research in our blue biosphere. Make your pledge to our blue biosphere on our art installation.
When we enjoy our oceans, our interactions with marine life—from dolphins and whales to turtles and sharks—impacts the natural world of our blue biosphere. Through our research program with UniSC, we’re learning about the movement patterns of these iconic species so we can better protect them.
- (9.00am) UniSC PhD student Melina Keane – understanding human-wildlife interactions with iconic marine species in Noosa’s blue biosphere.
- (9.20am) UniSC lead researcher Dr Bonnie Holmes – bull shark ecology and tagging.
- (9.40am) UniSC researcher Dr Alexis – dolphin ecology in our biosphere region.
- (10.15am) Panel discussion – Prof Ian Lowe AO and researchers.
