ONE LUCKY WINNER:
Noosa local, Peppie Simpson has had a fantastic festival.
Not only did she claim the crown for the sixth consecutive year in the Boom Shankar Women’s 35 & Over division – “doing it for the surfing grandmas”, as she jovially claimed at the presentations – she was also the lucky recipient of the incredible World Surfaris Competitor Prize.
Director of World Surfaris, John Finlay, was on hand to present Peppie with her trip-of-a-lifetime prize – joined on stage by Air Niugini representative Miriam Musgrave to draw the incredible Tupira prize and flights – and she couldn’t contain her delight at the win.
Located on the beautiful north coast of Madang, approximately 180km north of Madang Town, Tupira Surf Club offers seven uncrowded breaks, with Ulingan Bay being one of the most consistent swell magnets in Papua New Guinea.
With waves to suit every ability and surfing preference, Tupira Surf Club is sure to offer Peppie and her lucky ‘plus one’ pristine, empty line ups, more surf than they could possibly wish for and a wealth of amazing memories to last a lifetime.
Congratulations Peppie, and thank you once again to the ever-generous perennial festival supporters, John Finlay and World Surfaris.
Peppie’s fantastic prize, valued at over $7,500, includes:
- Two weeks (11-25 February 2017) at Tupira Surf Club, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea
- Return economy airfares with Air Niugini from Brisbane
- Transfers from and to the airport
- Surf guides to take you to the best spots and provide local knowledge
- Full board and accommodation on a twin share basis
