Pat Capocci’s ‘all or nothing’ mentality has gained him respect on both a national and international level. Undoubtedly being one of Australia’s hardest working bands, it is no wonder why all ages and subcultures across the world admire the energy and passion fuelled music that is Pat Capocci.

Pat’s unique style and charisma combined with his natural songwriting ability have seen the combo transcend the typical novelty of the genre. Pat’s writing style blends a unique feel of western swing, jazz, country and blues, and in the same way that all iconic artists have, Pat has used the genre as a launching pad, deepening and broadening the integrity and timelessness of the music.

Pat’s energetic fusion of guitar greats such as Charlie Christian, Johnny Guitar Watson, Merle Travis, Django Reinhardt and Grady Martin, paired with great passion and determination, show exactly why Pat is regarded as one of Australia’s best modern Practitioners of Rockabilly music.

PLAYING: Saturday 11 March, 2017 – XXXX Summer Beach Bar followed by After Hours @ Café Le Monde

Born out of blues, grunge & Rock N Roll, Noosa Heads five-piece LOS LAWS certainly knows how to stimulate your brain, dramatically channel your inner aggression & rattle those blues bones.

Creating as much noise as possible with as little room as possible, the boys started off with two guitarists and a drummer, dwelling in a tiny, brick shack of doom. By fusing mesmerising vocals and thrashing bass, these boys certainly knew how to annoy the neighbours, dads with daughters and blow the roof of any construction they created noise in.

Having opened for and played shows with DZ Deathrays, Pro Vita, Horace Bones, The Hi Boys, Mar Haze, PLTS, BARD, Hobo Magic, The Cloacas, Tampered Mind and Toxic Fox, each show seductively generates an array of raw power. With a couple of local headline shows also under their belts, and their 1st EP fast approaching, Los Laws look forward to what the future holds.

PLAYING: Saturday 11 March, 2017 – XXXX Summer Beach Bar followed by After Hours @ Café Le Monde

Roots/reggae/dub outfit, Bearfoot, has been making waves up and down the coast for the last few years. Inspired by activism, for cultural equality, environmentalism and a ‘One Love’ philosophy, their upbeat vibes are complemented by inspiring lyrics. Noticeable classic reggae influences are blended with a more modern ska-slash-hiphop feel, falling somewhere between the sounds of The Cat Empire, Sublime and Peter Tosh, for tunes that will send your toes into spasm before overwhelming your entire body.  Tapping your foot, or bouncing up and down, there’s no way you can sit still with Bearfoot’s pumping jams.

Through lyrics and tunes, Bearfoot evoke the classic surf stoke (being surfers and skaters themselves), channelling in undertones of those iconic 60s surf soundtracks; The Sandals, The Atlantics, even the faintest whiff of Dick Dale – music made to be enjoyed with aching shoulders, salty skin, cold beers and a warm, setting sun.  Could be worse.  We are stoked to welcome Bearfoot to the Noosa Festival Beach Stage.

PLAYING: Friday 10 March, 2017

With live shows offering a rousing blend of originals and a unique twist on crowd-pleasing gems, The Wet Fish are guaranteed to get the party started!

Toxic Fox can be summed up as a bunch of rascals raised in a surfy community that get together to make a sound that intertwines the genres of alternate rock, reggae and beachy punk. The end product is one that we love to get rowdy to on a stage in front of our home crowd.

Kallidad began in 2011, and quickly forged a unique sound. Noise complaints from neighbours drove the trio to begin busking, which almost immediately led to a rawer, simpler and more rhythmic sound, and quickly resulted in invitations to perform all over Sydney.

With their trademark “Day of the Dead” facepaint, the band has a visual image every bit as striking as their one-of-a-kind sound. The group combines influences from flamenco and mariachi music with rock and metal to create a powerful, energetic and uplifting sound that gives the audience no choice but to dance!

Kallidad has opened for Ed Sheeran, Tijuana Cartel, Mickey Avalon, Flight Facilities and Master’s Apprentices. Trips to festivals such as Rainbow Serpent, Nannup, Wallaby Creek, Palm Creek, Swaggerfest, Nanga, Psyfari and Subsonic and others have helped Kallidad build a strong and loyal fanbase all around Australia.

PLAYING: Sunday 5 March, 2017 – XXXX Summer Beach Bar

Like all good surf bands Old Man Friday was conceived whilst having a chat between waves on a Friday morning surf session. Influenced by surf music new and old they explore various styles from down the line; rock to ukulele based island songs and even harmonica and lap slide blues.

In the short life of the band they have released two albums – ‘Down the Line’ and the self-titled ‘Old Man Friday’ – played in beautiful oceanside locations, featured on radio programs and were the ABC Gold Coast Exhumed winners.

2017 looks to be an exciting year for Old Man Friday, with new material being released, songs being used in film and surf clips, and continuing the dream of playing in exotic locations, including the Laguna Real Estate Noosa Festival of Surfing.

PLAYING: Friday 3 March, 2017 – XXXX Summer Beach Bar

THE WEDGE – A man-made beast. This is the story about the wave and those who live it.

The Wedge, located at the end of the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, California, is a world famous, man-made beast of a wave. Since its creation, people have flocked from all over to see it in its mythical form. Wedge waves can be as powerful as any on Earth. It is a place where injuries are common and where even deaths have occurred.

Dirty Old Wedge is a documentary film that will showcase the history of the Wedge starting from its creation in the 1930’s. A unique assemblage of bodysurfers which has come to be known as the “Wedge Crew” will be one of the focal points of this film, highlighting their relationships with the wave and with one another.

We are stoked and honoured to have the film’s creator, Tim Burnham, and legendary bodysurfer Mark Cunningham joining us to present this award-winning movie.

PLAYING: Friday 3 March, 2017 – XXXX Summer Beach Bar

The ebb and flow of the seas embodies the fluid ethos of Band of Frequencies. Their sound is characterised by a deep groove, intuitive group chemistry and Shannon Carroll’s husky lead vocals. With a voice likened to Ray LaMontagne and Ian Ball from Gomez, Shannon’s lyrics engagingly affirm the positive through his personal experiences.

For the genre hungry, the B.o.F. sound is a mash up of soul/funk breaks, blues/rock riffs, dub/reggae roots, ambient soundtracks and saltwater folk. But beyond genre tags, their impeccable musicianship and rich musical history is their strength, which allows them to explore a plethora of styles in their live sets and extended improvisations.

Coast locals of many years, the band have been close friends of the festival for quite some time, performing almost every year of the last decade. 2016 saw the union take one step further, and the Band of Frequencies partnered with former festival director, Phil Jarratt, to score the soundtrack for Jarratt’s documentary of Australian surf history, ‘Men of Wood & Foam’. Enjoy their live performance of this soundtrack this year in conjunction with the ‘Life is Better When You Surf’ Film Festival.
